If the product is in the form of service, study and analyze the kind of services it offers so that you will know your target. If, however, you are representing two or more kinds of products as much as possible study them all. Then choose a single product which is easy for you to analyze and introduce and start yourself in being an expert on that particular product or service. This will lead you to step three.
Step three – Identify your target market – knowing your products or services, you could easily identify your target market. There are products offered to adults, kids, moms, elders. You could identify also if products could be easily offered to a mass of people like peers, colleagues, or groups. You should know if the products or services can be offered with people with same interests, or having the same hobby. In starting a marketing business, you will serve your customer better if you know their specific needs, wants, and desires.
Step four – Do not give yourself a doubtful impression - In targeting prospects, you have to be optimistic of the outcome once you let yourself meet your target market. Most of the times, people often think that the marketing plan won’t work for you have this worry in your mind that says “what if they’d say no?” Remember, every person you should not prejudge them as sometimes those whom you think would say no often times say yes.
